Seed Wellness offers acupuncture in Beaconsfield and Amersham.
Acupuncture is a form of alternative medicine and a key component of traditional Chinese medicine in which thin needles are inserted into the body.
Traditionally acupuncture is most commonly used to treat pain, but it is increasingly being used to boost overall wellness and manage stress management.
The insertion of extremely fine needles into the skin at specific “acupoints” help to stimulate the central nervous system. This, in turn, releases chemicals into the muscles, spinal cord, and brain. These biochemical changes may stimulate the body’s natural healing abilities and promote physical and emotional well-being.
As well as releasing endorphins (the body’s natural pain killers) acupuncture can help produce serotonin, known as the mood chemical which is why acupuncture can be very effective in the management of anxiety and depression.
Acupuncture is evidence based and recognised by NICE (National Institute for Healthcare & Excellence) so is a holistic treatment that will often be recommended by your GP.
