In both modern and ancient cultures across the world there are medicine men and women, shamans, seer-ers, sages, mystics and healers who serve their communities from birth to death and all the ceremonies in between. The shamans support, heal and work alongside their communities with the guidance of the unseen worlds.
We are not separate from nature, from the earth, from spirit or from each other. This way of knowing and living are the roots of healthy communities that live in harmony. Shamans hold ceremonies and travel into other worlds in trance states to be in communion with the spirit worlds, to seek wisdom, guidance, healing and messages for the greater good of all.
Here in the West, many of our ancient traditions were severed and assimilated into the rise of the Roman empire, leaving the peoples disconnected from their own medicine and ceremonies. In the past 20 years, many indiginous peoples across the world have begun to share their wisdom with western cultures to help ‘mend what has been broken’. Subsequently, we continue to witness a resurgence of our old traditions and plant medicines.
The shamanic earth energy and plant medicines are available for all of humanity; as one heals, we all heal. Modern-day medicine men and women, shamans, healers, see-ers and sages have been handed down rites of ceremonies and healings so that they can become wisdom keepers for the West.
