“Our homes are in a constant state of flux with the demands of our busy lives and consumption, life stage and age change. They can feel chaotic and out of control, no longer serving ourselves and our families.
I work with clients to restore their homes and schedules to order and calm which intrinsically link to our wellbeing and that of those around us. I help my clients take a step back and look at their home with fresh eyes to clear, organise and tidy, making a homely space and time for the life they want to live – when they are overwhelmed, tired and stressed, the solution is almost always to have less.
An organised and tidy home can reduce mental and physical overstimulation, decrease cortisol levels (the body’s main stress hormone) and improve focus and memory by minimising clutter that the brain perceives as stress. A tidy, organised space can foster a sense of control and accomplishment, which in turn can boost self-esteem and improve sleep quality, as well as often promote creativity and efficiency.
I work with a wide range of situations ranging from out of control clutter, a simple wardrobe sort out, processing the loss of a loved one, post renovation unpacking and house moves, reigning in children’s toys and complete room by room overhauls of layout and purpose.
I can help if:
- You feel overwhelmed in your own home and it feels like a source of constant stress, friction and distraction, stopping you from living the life you want
- You want to really appreciate what you do have and get really clear on what matters to you
- You are facing a life stage change, or a renovation or house move
- You live with neuro-divergence, anxiety or material attachment challenges
- You would like to reconsider how your home functions to reduce consumption and make more environmentally impactful choices
- You would like to link to the local community to rehome no-longer needed items in the most effective way. Your surplus belongings provide opportunities to give to and help others
What you’ll get from working with me:
- A considered understanding and non-judgemental plan of action
- My energy and wide experience of organisation, layout, storage solutions and rehoming knowledge for all items and all spaces, with a real focus on ‘make do and mend’
- A bespoke, tailored look suited to you and your household, not a standardised social media/tv bland end product
- A guided way to run your home in a way that maintains a level of order and calm on your own, making daily life a lot easier in the longer term
- Complete confidentiality
With a background in retail commercial management and primary teaching along with extensive volunteering across the family support sector including setting up a children’s clothing bank for the One Can Trust, I began organising people’s homes when everything either became overwhelming or they were more naturally disinclined to tackle the work. I really enjoy guiding clients through their projects, helping them take control and turn their house into a home and the sanctuary they deserve.
I have worked with a wide variety of clients, from those whose interests ran counter to the constant demands of running a home, to clients processing life change and new purpose. This experience can be intensely personal and I enjoy coaching my clients towards their own peace with their surroundings, their home becoming intrinsic to their support and sanctuary rather than a burden and a drain. I like things, but I hate waste and over consumption, so by supporting clients to tackle these issues, I know that I am changing behaviours and making a positive impact on the environment too.”
