Sandra Hughes – Integrative Psychotherapist in Marlow

Integrative Psychotherapist

Sandra Hughes – Integrative Psychotherapist in Marlow

T: 07872 011212 / E: sandrahughes@seedwellness.co.uk

Sandra is a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and registered and accredited as a Psychotherapist with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).

“I have been a qualified psychotherapist and facilitator for nearly 10 years and I find profound fulfilment in witnessing the transformative journey of my clients. It’s an honour to create a safe space where individuals can explore their innermost thoughts and feelings and to guide them towards healing and self-discovery.

Integrative psychotherapy provides a truly comprehensive and holistic approach to wellness, combining various therapeutic techniques to address the unique needs of each individual.

The most rewarding aspect is seeing clients reclaim their power, find their voice, and cultivate resilience in the face of life’s challenges. I am particularly passionate about working with grief and trauma. It’s crucial to recognise that trauma doesn’t have to be a monumental event; it can be small yet profoundly impactful for an individual.

Everyone’s feelings are valid and important. Similarly, grief can manifest in various life transitions beyond the conventional understanding – divorce, menopause, children leaving home, ageing, losing friends or moving away. These experiences all involve loss and adjustment and deserve attention and care.

This versatile modality draws from psychodynamic, person-centred, Jungian, cognitive-behavioural, Gestalt, existential, and transpersonal approaches. By tailoring the therapeutic experience to each client, integrative psychotherapy offers a range of health benefits, including:

  • Improved emotional regulation and stress management
  • Enhanced self-awareness and personal growth
  • Better coping mechanisms for anxiety and depression
  • Stronger interpersonal relationships and Communication skills
  • Increased self-esteem and confidence
  • Resolution of past traumas and unresolved conflicts
  • Greater sense of meaning and purpose in life
  • Improved overall mental health and wellbeing
  • Enhanced problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Better management of addiction and compulsive behaviours
  • Increased resilience in facing life’s challenges

This holistic approach addresses not only symptoms but also the underlying causes of psychological distress, promoting long-lasting positive change and empowering individuals to lead more fulfilling lives.

Every session is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in someone’s life, and that’s what makes this work so deeply gratifying.

Testimonials

I have been working with Sandra for the past 3 years and I can honestly say that it has transformed my life. Amongst other things, I have learned who I am and how to be authentically me.
My experience with Sandra has been fantastic. I. have seen counsellors before but have struggled to connect and feel safe with them, whereas with Sandra I feel safe and feel I can talk about anything without any judgement. Sandra has helped me through some very difficult personal times and simultaneously has helped me grow as a person. I know I wouldn’t be the person I am today without her help.
I met Sandra round 4 years ago when I needed an excellent therapist. Sandra was from the get go a very patient, understanding, extremely knowledgeable and also an empathic counsellor. With Sandra I have rebuilt my life and now have a very happy and healthy future to look forward to. Sandra was pivitol in my regaining my wellness with regards to my mental health and has allowed me the time and space to do this. I have no hesitation in recommending Sandra.
When I am fragile Sandra is gentle and coaxing. She has taught me a wealth of strategies to tackle the symptoms of PTSD, depression and anxiety so that I can live my life to the full. When I am more resilient she has helped me process and heal from trauma (past and recent), reframe negative core believes and cognitive distortions, and manage my inner critic. I’ve learned to set boundaries, nurture my inner child and recognise my self-care needs. By working through my childhood and life experiences, I’ve come to identify the origin of patterns of thoughts, feelings and behaviours that no longer serve me. Sandra has given me the skills to recognise when they are influencing me and the confidence to tackle and overcome them. I’ve had to work hard to develop self-compassion, self-belief and self-acceptance. It’s a work in progress. I’m proud of how far I have come and eternally grateful to Sandra. Without whom none of this healing and growth would have been possible.
Sandra is absolutely brilliant. She’s able to facilitate exactly what I’ve been searching for in every other therapist I’ve seen in my time and there have been many!
