For many of us, with the indulgence of summer behind us, kids returning to school and leaves falling from the trees, September is a time of change and transition. It also provides an opportunity to focus once again on our own self-care, shift unhelpful and unhealthy habits and make positive change.
Whatever your goals might be, we asked our health experts at Seed Wellness for their top tips:
Said Health Coach, Izzy Walton, “Now is a great time to focus on yourself using a 360 approach to health.”
Tip 1 – Start today and start small! Set yourself a goal that is just challenging enough but you know you are able to achieve. Eg drinking 8-10 glasses of water per day. This drives motivation and bigger goal setting.
Tip 2 – Make sure your exercise goals resonate with you otherwise you risk failing at the first hurdle. Are gym workouts really your thing or are you someone who gets much more from yoga and stretching exercises?
Tip 3 – Get outside daily. September is a great month for observing the change in nature around us. Mindful walks help lower stress and release feel good hormones.
Said Rapid Transformational Therapist (RTT), Sue Solomou, “The wonderful benefit of RTT is that it is rapidly changes how we think.”
Tip 1 – Understanding why we think the way we do is powerful: our thoughts are the only thing that we can control.
Tip 2 – Our thoughts control our feelings; our feelings control our actions; and our actions control our events.
Tip 3 – Our mind reacts to the words and pictures that we tell it so be mindful of what that is!
Coach and Mentor, Alison Bell teaches Louise Hay ‘Heal Your Life’ workshops. Said Alison, “Focus on planting seeds for positive change.”
Tip 1 – Each morning, set a positive intention or affirmation for the day… it could be something like “I set the intention to create a great day”.
Tip 2 – Do things that make you feel good. Be with people who make you feel good. Eat and drink things that make your body feel good. Go at a pace that makes you feel good.
Tip 3 – Before you sleep, make a list of 3 things you are grateful for… Expressing gratitude is a really powerful tool to shift into positive thinking.
