“As a cognitive behavioural hypnotherapist, I support adults, teenagers and children in taking positive action to support their mental health and make positive change.
After teaching for 21 years, I decided that supporting mental health and wellbeing was the direction I wanted to move in. After my daughter’s amazing experiences with hypnotherapy, I was fascinated to find out more and decided to retrain as a hypnotherapist myself. I chose to become a CB hypnotherapist as this approach has such compelling research and evidence behind it. It provides clients with an amazingly effective and positive approach to tackling issues and feeling more in control.
In hypnosis we can calm the busy mind and visualise and embed the changes we wish to make in our lives. Hypnotherapy is a relaxing and pleasant experience, similar to daydreaming, that can be extremely powerful in its ability to work with the subconscious mind. Using some CBT techniques allows us to consider thoughts, feelings and behaviours and how these are linked. As we work to change this cycle, hypnotherapy allows us to visualise, rehearse and embed those changes.
Hypnotherapy for adults I work with adults looking to adopt healthier habits and lose weight, as well as anxious and stressed clients, those with habits they wish to break, phobias they wish to move past and those looking to improve performance, on stage or when speaking to a group.
Hypnotherapy for children is a gentle and highly personalised therapy that can support a wide range of issues including stress and anxiety, confidence, self-esteem, school issues, picky eating and behavioural issues.
Hypnotherapy for woman during perimenopause or menopause has been shown in studies to reduce hot flushes by up to 74% while improving sleep, mood and anxiety levels. Clients report feeling they have regained a sense of themselves.
As well as these modalities, I also incorporate Drawing and Talking therapy to help children and adults process thoughts, feeling and experiences that they may find difficult or even impossible to articulate in words. I find this is a really effected tool when working with both adults and children in facilitating the healing process and bringing about deep transformation.
