TREATMENT REVIEW – Facial Reflexology with Lydia Harrison
What is Facial Reflexology?
The ancient art of facial reflexology is a holistic treatment which is gaining ground in the wellness space. Why? Because this novel treatment combines the benefits of foot reflexology with that of a holistic facial and is ideal for rebalancing the body and alleviating stress whilst also helping to boost skin and reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles.
It is an amazingly powerful and relaxing technique. The speed in which the relaxation is experienced is enhanced due to the contact points being in such close proximity to the brain.
So how does it work?
Facial Reflexology works in a similar way to foot reflexology – by utilising reflex points and micro “zones” located on the face to encourage harmony and energetic flow, maximising your body’s own ability to heal itself.
It helps on both a physical and emotional level, working with all of the body’s systems and can help with a wide range of health concerns including insomnia, stress, headaches/migraines, lymphatic drainage, fertility, muscular & skeletal pain, anxiety, and more.
It also incorporates the most effective natural face-lifting techniques to invigorate every muscle, lift the face and smooth out wrinkles.
My Experience
As I lay down on the bed in Lydia’s treatment room, a lovely, serene clinic based at her home, she covered me in a lovely warm duvet so I would remain warm and snug throughout the session.
The treatment started with a relaxation protocol to calm the nervous system, followed by a deep skin cleanse. From here, Lydia began to apply gentle pressure to the different reflex points on my face. She explained that these points are considered to directly relate to specific areas of the body. As well as her fingers, she used a non-invasive tool called a roller to help further stimulate the skin and nerve endings.
Verdict
Lydia is clearly a highly accomplished therapist with a lot of experience in both reflexology and also facial treatments. This treatment offers a great combo for those who want a double benefit of health and beauty.
As well as being deeply restorative and stress-busting, it also encourages a healthy blood and lymph flow, stimulates collagen and elastin, thus helping to promote a glowing complexion, skin cell renewal, detoxification and reduced appearance of lines and wrinkles.
I left feeling really calm, balanced and rejuvenated and my skin was glowing!
Lydia also offers foot reflexology and facials using Environ cosmeceutical skincare at her private clinic. She specialises in fertility, hormonal imbalance, problem skin in teens and adults and more.
