Sammy is a fully insured first aid trainer, former Nurse and Nurse Educator and runs her company, Happy Hearts First Aid Training, from Hedgerley, Beaconsfield.

“As a mum of three young children, and a former nurse, I completely understand the fears and worries that are associated with becoming a parent. Unfortunately, accidents can happen. Learning Baby & Child First Aid with me is about replacing fears with the facts so that if a medical emergency was to happen, you will be as prepared as you can be.

I have been teaching first aid in the UK for the past 5 years. I have always loved teaching, and my style is relaxed, engaging and informative.

I find it so rewarding to empower parents when it comes to medical emergencies. Learning first aid is such an important set of skills – these are quite literally life-saving.

Understandably, choking seems to be the biggest concern for the parents that I speak to. Parents have such a sense of relief after completing one of my sessions as they could now confidently identify and manage a choking episode. It is so rewarding to know that they will be approaching the weaning stage with excitement rather than fear.”

Sammy offers A 2- hour Baby & Child First Aid session through her company, Happy Hearts First Aid Training covering the following:

  • CPR
  • Choking identification and management
  • Recovery positions
  • Burns and scald management
  • Head injuries
  • Febrile seizures
  • Meningitis awareness
  • Lots of time for Q&A!

Sammy also offers an online, self-paced course “Confidence with Choking: a masterclass for mums and dads” which teaches parents evidence-based, practical information to help them become the experts on choking identification and management.

  • 2-hour public Baby & Child First Aid sessions run regularly throughout South Bucks
  • Private sessions at a venue of your choice
  • Self-paced, online course “Confidence with Choking: a masterclass for mums and dads”

Fees:
Public session – £25/pp or £45 per couple
Private session – £20/pp if no venue booking required, minimum of 5 participants.

I really enjoyed this well thought-out and hugely helpful course. I did it shortly before my daughter was starting to wean and it made me feel far more confident about baby-led weaning as I knew how to handle a choking situation. I’d very much recommend this for any parent.
